The nominations for the 62nd Grammy Awards have been announced today and the women have absolutely dominated it across the board. Lizzo and Billie Eilish have reigned in an incredible amount of nominations each, including Album of The Year, Song of The Year and Record of The Year. They are amongst 5 of the 8 nominees in the Album of The Year category, alongside Ariana Grande with her platinum-selling album Thank U, Next, Lana Del Rey and H.E.R.
Ex-Recording Academy chairman Neil Portnow bravely vocalised his opinion that women need to “step up” after complaints of ignoring the musical work from women at the 60th Grammy Awards, so it seems the ladies have flipped their middle finger up at him, proving to him and the world that the men don’t run this industry.
The awards will take place on the 26th of January and will be hosted by Alicia Keys.
