If you read our last review, you’d know by now that Greta Gerwig, Saoirse Ronan, and Timothée Chalamet go together like strawberries and cream. In her directorial debut, Gerwig delivers tearful, coming-of-age drama that’s heart-warming and wonderfully funny. Christine McPherson (Saoirse Ronan), or Lady Bird as she prefers to be known, is in her senior year of high school, preparing to leave for college and escape her hometown of Sacramento. With flawless performances from the cast – including Ronan and Chalamet, Laurie Metcalf, and Lucas Hedges – every scene of Lady Bird is honest and soulful.
